SAFDARJUNG'S TOMB

Welcome to SAFDARJUNG'S TOMB

Another place of honor in what to see in Delhi in 3 days, and which we carry in our hearts, is the tomb of Safdarjung.
If you don't know, you'd probably mistake this beautifully domed building for a temple. Instead, you must know that many wonderful palaces in India are actually tombs. Again the Mughal dynasty returns.
The tomb was built in 1754 for Safdarjung, a great power leader who lived under the most powerful Mughal emperor, Muhammad Shah.
One of the peculiarities of the tombs found in Delhi is the vastness of the gardens that surround them.
They are places that emanate an immense peace and it is a pleasure to walk along the quiet paths that completely cut off the honking of the horn for a good minute each and the lowing of the cows that characterize the life of the city.
Furthermore, in these places it can very often happen that you see local people visiting rather than foreign tourists.
